Renowned mycologist and author Greg Marley will appear at Rabelais to sign copies of his newest book, Chanterelle Dreams, Amanita Nightmares: The Love, Lore and Mystique of Mushrooms from Chelsea Green publishers. Greg will also identify any fungi that are brought to the signing.
Marley has been fascinated with mushrooms since he left his native New Mexico for the green of New England. He is the owner of Mushrooms for Health, a company that provides education and products made with Maine medicinal mushrooms. Marley is also a mushroom identification consultant for the Northern New England Poison Control Center, and teaches and lectures extensively on mycology.
This is his second book, his first was Mushrooms for Health: Medicinal Secrets of Northeastern Fungi from Down East. Last March Marley was one of the speakers at the Slow Food Portland Writers Night at SPACE Gallery.
