Eco-chef Bryant Terry visits Rabelais

Sunday, May 10, 2009 2:00 PM

Vegan Soul Kitchen and Grub by Bryan Terry Join us on Sunday, May 10th at 2pm, to meet Bryant Terry, an eco chef, food justice activist, and author of Vegan Soul Kitchen: Fresh, Healthy, and Creative African-American Cuisine and (with co-author Anne Lappe) Grub, Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen. Terry will be signing copies of his new book.

For the past nine years Terry has worked to build a more just and sustainable food system and has used cooking as a tool to illuminate the intersections between poverty, structural racism, and food insecurity. His interest in cooking, farming, and community health can be traced back to his childhood in Memphis, Tennessee, where his grandparents inspired him to grow, prepare, and appreciate good food.

Terry will also be speaking on Saturday at the Food+Farm event at Space Gallery. Book will be available there as well. We hope to see you one place or the other!
