A community cookbook, with short, narrative form recipes with most attributed to the women who supplied them. With blank pages at the end of each section for the addition of handwritten recipes. Wrightsville sites on the banks of the Susquehana River, just west of Lancaster. Text block clean and sound; original toothpaste green endpapers. In publisher's plain, untitled dark brown pebbled cloth. Slightest soiling to cloth, otherwise fine. Scarce. [OCLC locates four copies of this 1883 edition; no copies of the 1911 second edition; Cook, page 223].
