Both a popular history of food and a collection of historical recipes adapted from early English and French books, by the popular English cookbook author Harriet Anne De Salis. By the time of the issue of this work, she had published at least a dozen cookery titles. Hinges tender, endpapers browned, but otherwise internally very good. In blue cloth rubbed and with spine somewhat faded, decorated in green and yellow, with a depiction of an Art-Nouveau styled citrus tree and title to front board. A good copy.
