Octavo-sized booklet (19 x 13 cm.), 63, [1] pages. Evident FIRST EDITION. A collection of compiled though unattributed recipes, drawn from members of an unnamed community (but presumably in the area of Northampton, Mass.), as well as from the author's personal collection. A few recipes are credited to Mrs. Lincoln. The Preface contains the standard language of recipes personally tested and moving toward economy and away from "extravagance". Meats receive a paltry two pages, and Vegetables, none. Sweets, including Doughnuts and Cookies, Cake Fillings and Frosting, Pudding and Desserts, pudding Sauces, Pies , Candy, Ice Cream and Sherbet, Drinks, and finally Canning and Preserving. In publisher's decorated green wrappers. Very light creasing and edge wear to wrappers, otherwise very good.
