Includes remarks on soups and fifty recipes for soups, arranged alphabetically from artichoke to vermicelli soup. One in the series of single-subject "Cookery Books" published by Frederick Stokes. Murrey was the caterer of New York's Astor House and Philadelphia's Continental Hotel. In publisher's paper-covered boards, front and back covers with a color illustration of a young girl tasting soup at the hearth. Some spotting to top edge of pages; publisher's color decorated paper paste-downs rubbed and soiled. Good only. [OCLC locates nineteen copies; Bitting, page 337; not in Cagle].
