The recipes are attributed to Martha Washington, Elizabeth Monroe, Dolly Madison, Martha Jefferson, and others, including some who are identified as slaves on the various plantations. Paper label pasted-down to front board over decorated cloth. A bit of soiling to cloth, otherwise very good. [Bitting, page 310; Brown 463].
