Glover (b. 1868) was the author of a series of "Dame Curtsey" books published by McClurg, essentially guides to etiquette, entertaining and cookery for the aspiring classes. Other titles in the series include Dame Curtsey's Book of Novel Entertainments for Every Day in the Year, Dame Curtsey's Book of Guessing Contests, and Dame Curtsey's Book of Etiquette. Includes a good deal on fondant, "a variety of fudges", caramels, pulled candy, brittles, taffies, kisses, puffs, glacéd nuts, popcorn dainties, stuffed dates, prunes and marshmallows. Red half-cloth and printed paper-covered boards; original printed dust jacket (extremely scarce thus). Light soil and wear to jacket, otherwise very good. [Axford, page 110].
