Bitting states that the book is copyright 1880, with the first edition 1881, but there are no copies located with Bitting's dating (the Bitting copy is 1885). Previous owner's name in pencil to title page, and again in ink to top of first text page. [OCLC locates one copy only of this printing, and no copies of any earlier printings; the trade edition not in Bitting; no edition in Brown or Cagle].
