Paris: Editions Jean Lenoir, 1997.
Clamshell box (10 x 14 cm.) containing 34-page booklet, stapled in wrappers and six small bottles of scent, labeled 1-6. in additional protective corrugated clamshell box. FIRST EDITION. The Le Nez du Café kit is a sensory training tool that builds olfactory memory, giving the user a common vocabulary to describe, analyze, and enjoy coffee. The creator, Jean Lenoir, had previously issued a similar kit focused on wine, and has since created one for whiskey. This "scent alphabet" introduces you to six aromas that shape the flavor of coffee, from floral and fruity to roasted, spicy, and smoky notes, and was intended for coffee lovers, baristas, roasters, and educators. The booklet, scent bottles, and printed box are all in fine condition. The booklet's title page and facing blank are inscribed with a drawing by the author to Julia Child, "A Julia Child, en hommage a son aussi joie da vie, Jean Lenoir, 27.06.1998" and "Salutations to a great lady, viva Julia!", and with a drawing.
