Title and imprint from wrapper; date inferred from a calendar for 1882 printed on the rear wrapper panel. FIRST EDITION. A little promotional cookery almanac from the patent medicine firm of John F. Henry & Co. of New York City. Recipes are mixed with advertisements for proprietary remedies including: Oxygenated Bitters, Dr. Baker's Pain Panacea, and Scovill's Blood and Liver Syrup. Much of the book consists of testimonials and praise for these remedies with recipe pages here and there for Charlotte Russe, Lobster Salad, and the like. Internally clean and sound, but for a few small spots of foxing to margins. In publisher's black & white illustrated wrappers, with a wood engraving depicting a housewife working in the kitchen. Some light soiling to wrappers, otherwise near fine. [OCLC locates five copies of this annual issue].
