Les Plats Régionaux de France. 1400 Succulents recettes traditionelles de toutes le provinces Francaises.

Luzarches: Daniel Morcrette, 4 Avenue Joffre, [1977].

Octavo (20 x 14 cm.), 443, [2] pages. Index. Top edge gilt. Facsimile Edition of the original 1928 Paris issue. An important collection of regional French recipes, from the writer, musician, folklorist, and gastronome Austin de Croze, friend of Verlaine, Huysman, and collaborator with Maurice Ravel. His writings were varied, encompassing magic, ethnomusicology, eroticism, and (disappointingly) the "Yellow Peril", but he is best remembered for his culinary writings, and perhaps, as an originator of the appreciation of regional cuisines. Together with Curnonsky and Marcel Rouff, he is considered one of the heralds of gastronomic tourism. Fine, in publisher's full, light brown morocco, titled and decorated in darker brown.
