Issued on the brink of the First World War the book emphasizes meat substitutes as well as stale bread, left-overs, sour milk, and invalid cooking. Some creasing throughout, otherwise internally very good. Publisher's wrapper, printed in green and red, lightly soiled. Includes a mechanically punched oval for insertion a ribbon to hang the booklet in the kitchen. Overall, near fine. Ownership signature to the top edge of the front wrapper, "Fern M. Noyes". Scarce.
