Viniana. With an introduction by H. Warner Allen and eight illustrations in collotype.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf Inc., 1930.

Octavo (20.5 x 12.5 cm.), xiv, 149 pages. Illustrated. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, originally published in London the previous year. Bound from the British sheets, but this copy with an American title page, not a cancel. A collection of anecdotes told at wine dinners given by author, London wine merchant and connoisseur. A touch of age-toning throughout, otherwise clean and sound in marbled, paper-covered boards, over one quarter gray cloth. Corners a bit rubbed, lacking dust jacket. Still, generally very good. With the bookplate of Philip Wallace Nash to the front paste-down, and an ownership signature of the same, dated September 1930. Nash was a member of the New York Stock Exchange and of the Wine & Food Society. [Cagle & Stafford 89; Gabler G12920].
