Original black & white photograph (10.3 x 16 cm.). Silver gelatin photograph depicting a roadside picnic, with two men and two women sitting on the ground or on rocks, surrounded by an impressive amount of camp or picnic cookware, including a camp stove, thermoses, aluminum pots, lids, dishes, cups, etc. Their dress is a bit formal by today's standards. No automobile is visible. Small stain to upper right hand corner, but the image is still clear. Pencil annotation to verso states, "Roadside Picnic, ME, c. 1920s", but we would date this a decade or two later.
