Chicago, Il. [Pullman; Tower, Millard, & Decker, Printers, 64 Lake Street, 1868].
Bi-fold timetable (12.5 x 8.5 cm.), pages. Monogram vignette to front panel. Date from timetable at rear panel. A time table and bill of fare for service aboard the Pullman Hotel Cars servicing the Great Central Route (Chicago to Rochester). There were six Hotel Cars operating on the route at the time, each with a name, "Viceroy", "Plymouth Rock", etc. The journey by train was what we'd call a "red eye", leaving Chicago at 4:30 pm, and arriving at Rochester the next morning. The Bill of Fare contains more than simple offerings, with Beef Tongue, Mutton Chop with Potatoes, an Omelette with Rum, Oysters three ways, and a selection of bread, relishes, pickles, etc. Lightly foxed and soiled. Near fine.
