Octavo (21 x 14 cm.), xiii, 460 pages. Illustrated with drawings by Harry O. Diamond. Index. FIRST EDITION. The sixth cookbook from the great James Beard (1903-1985), the "Dean of American Cooking" or perhaps "America's first foodie" as he has been described by Mitchell Davis, founder of Kitchen Sense, and formerly of the James Beard Foundation. In publisher's gray cloth, with a bit of light bumping to corners; light stain to text block edges. Dust jacket price-clipped, with red printing faded at the spine and with a bit of edgewear and a light dampstain, otherwise near fine. One of the scarcer James Beard titles.
