A church cookbook from the Syrian / Lebanese community of St. George's Eastern Orthodox Church. St. George's Guild - now known as The Ladies' Guild (AOCWNA). The Foreword mentions intermarriage of people of different ethnic backgrounds and the "ever expanding jet age" for an increased recognition of the foods of the world, including Syrian/Lebanese cuisine. Included is a list of "Definitions" (Kishik, Koosa, Mazahar, etc.), and an index of Lenten Foods. The recipes are fairly detailed and cover a wide range of dishes of Lebanon and Syria. Some light soil to a few leaves; some wear to the printed cardstock covers. Overall near very good. [OCLC locates no copies (but one copy each of the 1980 and 1992 issues].
