The Newcomen Society of North America was chartered in 1961, following the earlier establishment in 1923 of the Newcomen Society in England. The focus is on "material history, as distinguished from political history". This includes education, business, banking, railroads, utilities, insurance, & other enterprises contributing to the progress of society. A bit of age-toning to edges, otherwise fine.
