In the preface, the author explains that the introduction to the third section, an some of the section's recipes, first appeared in the Boston Cooking School Magazine, though they had been written for this book. In publisher's black- and gilt-stamped blue cloth with some edge rubbing. Bookplate and ink ownership inscription of inscription of Kate M. Morrell.
