A small study of the British painter Ben Nicholson (1894-1982). Lacking the dust jacket, but otherwise near fine, in publisher’s brown paper-covered, stiff boards. Inscribed on the title page by the artist to James Johnson Sweeney, “L & J.J.S., B.N., July 48”. Sweeney was one of the first curators of the Museum of Modern Art, and the second Director of the Guggenheim.
