The catalogue for the sale at auction of the magnificent wine book collection of Kilian Fritsch. Sold on February 20, 1993, the collection contained six hundred seventeen lots related to "Le Vigne et le Vin" from antiquity through the 20th Century. Agriculture, distilling, feasting, Bacchic associations, and the literature of wine are covered as well. Oberlé’s text, like that in his Les Fastes de Bacchus et de Comus, is indispensable and a great pleasure to read. Hinges started, as usual, for this book printed on heavy, glossy stock; in publisher's burgundy cloth. Otherwise fine in like dust jacket.
