Prodigies and Prodigals brought to you by Guinness.

[London: John Waddington Limited, 1939].

Stapled booklet in wrappers (24 x 15.5 cm.), [20] pages. Designed for Guinness by SH Benson Ltd.; illustrations by Antony Groves-Raines. FIRST EDITION. A marvelous printed promotional item for the Guinness Co., with fanciful designs – one for each month of the year – printed in color throughout. These booklets were sent annually to doctors from 1933-1939, then 1950-1966, after which the Christmas Guinness Book of Records continued the tradition. Every publication from 1933 to 1966 was a high-quality booklet with rhymes, text and cartoons created by some of the top illustrators and writers of the time. This volume was the last issued until the hiatus initiated by the war was over. With the conclusion of the war, copies of this same booklet were distributed in 1946. Some light rubbing to edges of wrapper; staples a bit rusty, otherwise near fine. With the compliments card of the company laid-in.
