Stapled booklet (21.5 x 11.5 cm.), 48 pages. Illustrated; with a list of works consulted (page 4). FIRST EDITION. A product cookbook, promoting the therapeutic aspects of cereals as food, specifically the products of the Posstum Company, including Postum, Grape-Nuts, and Post Toasties. The little work is about evenly divided, with the first half dedicated to a general description of the science (of the moment) of nutrition and diet; the second half to the manufacturing processes used to make the Postum products. Very near fine in publisher’s gray wrappers, decorated with an image of the Possum factories, “Perhaps the largest Pure Food Factories in the world.” Scarce. [OCLC locates no copies of this printing, and just one copy (Univ. of Kentucky) of a 1914 issue with similar pagination; not in Cagle].
