Four Sonnets.

Honolulu: The White Knight Press, 1947.

Octavo (24 x 16cm.), [12] pages. Printed throughout in red and black. FIRST EDITION, thus. "Six copies of this first bibelot from the White Knight Press in Honolulu were printed in January, 1947, and were dedicated to Mrs. Alfred L. Castle. This is copy no. 2” and signed in the colophon, “A Grove Day”. The first full-length publication from what I believe is the first fine press to operate in Hawaii. Arthur Grove Day was a Philadelphia-born academic, who served on the faculties of Stamford and University of Hawaii. He founded the White Knight Press in 1946. In publisher's decorated paper covered boards over a tan paper spine. Two small chips from decorated paper on front board, otherwise near fine. [OCLC locates just one copy (U. Of Hawaii Manoa)].

Price: $250.00
