Octavo (13.5 x 11 cm.), 150 pages. Illustrated. FIRST EDITION. The author was the publisher of Dr. Jayne's Medical Almanac and Guide to Health and producer of various patent medicines. The guide, published on the heels for repeal, includes a warning to bartender's a proprietors of other alcohol-serving businesses to follow the laws to 't', lest we "invite another fatal dose". The text block is somewhat brittle and edge chipped due to low quality paper. Wrappers are near very good, printed in red and black on thick brown stock. No unattractive, but delicate. Scarce.
