Some recipes include cultural context (occasions) or notes on process (see the excellent description laying aside of certain parts of a cow for salting, drying, and pickling). Some light soil throughout; in publisher's limp tan cloth, with later owner's tracing of the lettering in ink (a vernacular touch or a defect - your call). With two ownership inscriptions of a "Mrs. J.J. Leslie, Kanterstead, Sound, Lerwick, Shetland"
