A first person account of the Eskimo people and their traditions, from a native of the Arctic north. Sections include the Eskimo home, clothing, food, hunting, and fishing. Robert Mayokok was born in Wales, Alaska in 1903. Stricken with tuberculosis in 1947, his activities turned toward creative work, including this work, in which he sought to dispel myths about the Eskimo. The publisher, Harry Briggs, was a faculty member at the University of Alaska. Slightest edgwear to printed blue wrapper, otherwise fine. Very scarce.
