The Homeopathic Mentor was issued in its original version in 1956. Humphreys was the founder of the Humphreys' Homeopathic Medicine Company. Humphreys was the personal physician to Theron Tilden Pond, developer of Pond's Extract, derived from witch hazel, and the forerunner of Pond's Cold Cream. Upon Pond's death, Humphreys claimed he had been given the rights to produce the cream. The products live on today, currently under the ownership of Unilever.
