Notes on Turquois in the East.

Chicago, Illinois: Field Museum of Natural History, 1913.

Anthropological Series, Vol. XIII, No. 1. Octavo, 71 pages, plus eight photographic plates with captioned tissue guards; color frontispiece. FIRST EDITION. Laufer was the Field Museum's Curator of Asian Anthropology from 1908 to 1934. For much of that time, he was the only Sinologist working in the United States. He built magnificent collections of artifacts and books and documents for the Field Museum, and published over 150 monographs. Text block substantially unopened; a bit of edgewear, otherwise internally fine. Printed wrappers are worn at the edges and the rear panel is separating at the crease. Still a better copy than is usually encountered. Scarce.
