The Original Buckeye Cook Book, and practical housekeeping. A compilation of choice and carefully tested recipes. Trade edition.

St. Paul, Minnesota/Chicago: Webb Publishing Co./Trade Supplied by Reilly & Britton Co. 1905.

Thick octavo, 689 pages. Illustrations in the text. Later edition. The classic Midwestern cookbook, originally published in Ohio in 1876, and extensively revised in 1890. This extremely popular book went through numerous editions and printings, as documented in the scholarly edition edited by Andrew F. Smith (Ohio State, 2000). In black-decorated, white oil-cloth with soiling and edgewear, a bit of cracking to hinges. Some wear to a few pages; minor foxing throughout; rubber date stamp to free front endpaper, otherwise very good. [OCLC locates no copies of this edition; not in Bitting or Cagle].
