The Unity Inn Vegetarian Cook Book. A collection of practical suggestions and receipts for the preparation of non-flesh foods in palatable and attractive ways.

Kansas City, Missouri: Published by Unity School of Christianity, 1924.

Octavo, 339, XXVI pages. Illustrated with photographs of the inn, its dining rooms, soda fountain, cafeteria, and pergola room. FIRST EDITION. An explicitly Christian vegetarian book, with an introduction on the "Relation Between Regeneration and Vegetarianism". The Inn, a project of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, opened in 1906. At first they offered a "pay what you will" option but found that to be an inadequate business strategy. The inn and restaurant move to Unity Village, MO where it still operates today, offering a vegetarian option only a few lunches per week. Near fine in publisher's dappled blue cloth, with gilt-stamped, decorated boards. [Brown, page 127].
