La Vigne en Algérie. Etude géographique. Volumes 1 & 2.
Paris: Editions Ophrys - Jean Louis Gap, 1947.
Two volumes. Thick octavos, 273 + 542 pages. Illustrated. FIRST EDITION. Published as the author's doctoral thesis for the CNRS, this work remains the most detailed study of viticulture in Algeria - a full exploration of the geography and history of winemaking in a nation that provided something of a haven during the phylloxera blight. Pages brittle throughout, with some edge chipping to many pages. In original publisher's wrappers, creased at spine, but complete and not unattractive. With the small exlibris stamps – and "Annule" of the Fondation Theirs to wrappers and a few pages. Scarce.
Price: $250.00
