A Complete Guide to the Mystery and Management of Bees, by the Late William White Senior, of Shutford, Near Banbury, Oxon. To Which is Added, a Practical Monthly Bee Calendar, by the Late James Beesley, of Banbury.

Mytholimroid, England: Northern Bee Books, 1977.

Octavo, 75 pages. Number 52 of a signed limited facsimile edition of 250 copies only. A reprint of the 1852 edition (the first edition was 1771). Handbound at Pennine Binding, Lydgate, Midgley, Halifax, England. With a calligraphic colophon, signed by the binder, D.A. Shinton. In addition to its desirability as one of the scarcer bee books, the 1852 edition of White's work, which this facsimile uses as its source, is a typographical oddity, set in a peculiar typeface patented by Rusher, which eliminates the tails of descending letters, in an effort to fit more lines of type on a page. Gilt-stamped red cloth, over 1/4 red morocco. Fine. [British Bee Books 123].
