London: Viking/British Museum, Natural History, 1989.
Quarto (25.5 x 19.5 cm.), 175 pages. FIRST ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDITION. Originally written in 1614, while the author was in exile from Italy. A few copies were manuscript copies were distributed, but the author passed away. The work was written partially as a fond remembrance of his home far away, and partially as encouragement for the English to eat a wider variety of fruits and vegetables. Small ink dot on bottom edge of text block, otherwise a fine copy in a dust jacket with a small closed tear to the head of the spine, otherwise dust jacket very good.
