Ephemera 34 - The Ephemera Society of America Annual Conference

Ephemera 34 - The Ephemera Society of America Annual Conference

Friday, Mar 14, 2014 - Sunday, Mar 16, 2014

This year, the theme of the Annual Ephemera Society of America Conference is "Food & Drink: Field to Table." Held each year in Greenwich CT, and now in its 34th year, the Conference features presentations by experts in the ephemera world, this time including William Woys Weaver, Henry Voigt, Michael Russo, Lizzy Young, Donny Zaldin, and others. I'll be giving a presentation on the history of drink ephemera, tracing the cocktail from still to sip, through the many types of printed items we might take for granted: tavern license, cocktail menus, labels, recipe booklets, prohibition tracts, bar napkins and more. In addition to the many activities, the conference includes an Ephemera Fair, where ephemera and book dealers from around the country will be exhibiting fine collections of printed materials. We'll be bringing all culinary ephemera, as you can imagine,  including some prime items from a newly purchased collection of more than 1800 menus.
