Food for Thought / Thought for Food

Food for Thought / Thought for Food

On Friday, December 11, friends and customers joined us for an opening reception and holiday gathering to celebrate a new art installation by Jenna Crowder and Claire Houston. Inspired by chef Ferran Adria, who is perhaps responsible for more culinary conceptual expansion than any other, these two artists explored the role of thoughts, concepts, ideas, and musings in food. Crowder created a series of prints made with food (beets, pears, carrots, a fish) as well as text, and Houston created a short animated film inspired by the portrait of Chef Adria in the book, 'Food for Thought / Thought for Food.' Of course, there was holiday-appropriate cheer available, as well as other opportunities for those gathered to express their food-inspired ideas. Here's a short video of the event itself.
